1. When this notice applies
This notice applies when Adora Learn collects personal information online from a child under 13 or handles student personal information through a family-managed account. It supplements our Privacy Notice.
2. Authorization before collection
For a family-managed account, a child under 13 must not provide personal information through the learning service until the parent or guardian has received direct notice of our practices and completed the required verifiable consent process. The consent method may vary based on the information and how it is used or disclosed. If the account experience does not present that consent step, do not allow the child to proceed and contact us.
3. Information a child may provide
Depending on the account and features used, we may collect:
- display name, account identifier, grade level, and selected curriculum or district;
- homework questions, worksheet images, PDFs, screenshots, prompts, and messages;
- answers, practice activity, learning progress, and AI-generated guidance;
- device, usage, security, and diagnostic information; and
- a parent’s online contact information for notice and consent.
We ask children and parents not to upload a child’s full legal name, home address, personal phone number, government or school ID number, medical records, or other information that is not needed for learning. Parents should review worksheets and images for unnecessary personal information before upload.
4. How we use children’s information
We use it to:
- provide guided learning, personalized practice, and progress features;
- authenticate and maintain the child’s account;
- show activity to the child and authorized parent or guardian;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- maintain safety, security, integrity, and legal compliance; and
- improve educational quality and reliability within the authorized context.
We do not condition participation on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the feature. We do not sell children’s information or use it for targeted advertising.
5. Who receives children’s information
Information may be processed by providers supporting hosting, databases, authentication, security, email, customer support, and AI learning features. These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to provide their service and are expected to protect it and follow applicable restrictions.
Information may also be available to the child’s authorized parent or guardian. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect a child, another person, or the security of the Services.
6. Parent rights and controls
A verified parent or guardian may:
- review the personal information collected from their child;
- ask us to correct or delete that information;
- revoke consent and refuse further collection or use; and
- receive information about the categories of providers that process it.
Email info@adoralearn.com with the subject “Parent Privacy Request.” Include your name, the account email, the child’s first name or initial, and the request. Do not send a password, government ID, student ID, or learning content by email.
We will take reasonable steps to confirm that the requester is the child’s parent or is otherwise authorized. Revoking consent may require closing features that need the information to operate.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain a child’s personal information only while the family account and authorized educational use are active and the information is reasonably necessary for that purpose. After a verified deletion request or account closure, we schedule the information for deletion from active systems within 60 days unless a shorter period is required. Protected backups age out within up to 90 additional days unless law requires preservation.
8. Contact us
Parents and guardians may contact info@adoralearn.com with questions about this notice or our handling of children’s information.
