1. Scope
This notice applies to adoralearn.com, the Adora Learn learning application, demo and support communications, and other services that link to it (together, the “Services”).
Our Children’s Privacy Notice gives parents and guardians more detail about information involving children.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and profile information: name, email address, login or account identifiers, role, grade level, and the school district or curriculum selected for learning alignment.
- Learning content: homework questions, worksheets, images, PDFs, prompts, messages, answers, practice activity, AI-generated guidance, progress, and related learning records.
- Demo, support, and communication information: contact details, child grade level, school or district, notes, support requests, and correspondence.
- Payment information: if paid features are offered, payment details are handled by a payment provider. We receive transaction and subscription information but do not need to store complete payment-card numbers.
Information collected automatically
When the Services are used, we and service providers may receive IP address, device and browser type, operating system, dates and times, pages or features used, referral information, approximate location derived from IP address, security events, diagnostics, and identifiers stored through cookies, local storage, or similar technologies. We use these technologies for functions such as authentication, preferences, security, and service reliability. We do not use them to build targeted-advertising profiles of students.
Information from parents and demo contacts
A parent or guardian may create and manage a family account and provide grade, homework, assignment, or other educational information. A school or district contact may also provide professional contact information when requesting a demo or discussing a possible future agreement; that inquiry does not create a school-managed student account.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, personalize, secure, and maintain the Services;
- process learning content and generate educational guidance and practice;
- show progress and activity to the authorized child and parent or guardian;
- respond to demo requests, support questions, privacy requests, and account needs;
- send service, safety, and requested communications;
- detect abuse, cheating patterns, fraud, security incidents, and technical problems;
- evaluate and improve reliability, accessibility, safety, and educational quality; and
- comply with law and enforce our agreements.
We do not use student personal information for unrelated commercial purposes, build advertising profiles from it, or market third-party products to students.
4. AI processing
Learning content may be processed by automated systems and contracted AI service providers to generate explanations, questions, practice, and feedback. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed by the student, parent, guardian, or educator. Authorized personnel may review limited content when reasonably necessary for support, safety, security, abuse prevention, or quality assurance.
We require providers handling student information for us to use it only to provide the contracted service and to protect it appropriately. We do not authorize providers to use student personal information for targeted advertising.
5. How information is disclosed
We may disclose information to:
- Service providers supporting cloud hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, customer support, security, diagnostics, payment processing, and AI features.
- Authorized account participants, such as a parent or guardian viewing the child profile in the family account they manage.
- Legal and safety recipients when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect a person, investigate misuse, or preserve the security and integrity of the Services.
- A successor organization in a merger, financing, reorganization, or acquisition, subject to applicable student-privacy restrictions and the commitments in this notice.
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose student personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
6. Children and student information
Adora Learn is designed for K–12 learning. A child under 13 may use the learning service only with authorization from a parent or guardian. Personal information from a child under 13 is not authorized for collection until the required direct notice has been provided and the required parent or guardian authorization has been completed. If the account experience does not present that authorization step, do not permit the child to submit personal information and contact us.
Parents can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s information, revoke consent, or refuse further collection. Read the Children’s Privacy Notice for the request process and additional details.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for a defined business, educational, safety, or legal need:
- Demo and contact requests: generally for up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is needed for an active relationship or legal obligation.
- Student personal information: while the family account remains active and the information is needed for the learning service. After a verified deletion request or account closure, we schedule it for deletion from active systems within 60 days unless a shorter period or law applies.
- Backups: deleted information may remain in protected backups for up to 90 additional days before aging out, unless legal preservation is required.
- Security and diagnostic records: generally for up to 12 months, with longer retention only when needed to investigate an incident or comply with law.
- Suppression records: an email address and opt-out status may be kept as long as needed to honor an unsubscribe request.
We may retain de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to a student or other individual.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to appeal a denied request. You may also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message.
To make a request, email info@adoralearn.com. Parents requesting information about a child should use a Parent Privacy Request. We may verify identity and authority before acting.
Do not email passwords, full student records, government identifiers, or copies of homework. Include only enough information to locate the account.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information and our Services. These include access controls, encrypted transport, restricted database access, monitoring, and service-provider review. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us promptly if you believe an account or information has been compromised.
10. California disclosures and browser signals
We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The public marketing site does not currently use advertising pixels. Because there is not yet a universally accepted browser “Do Not Track” standard, the Services may not respond to legacy Do Not Track signals. Where legally required and technically supported, we honor applicable opt-out preference signals for covered processing.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the Services or law changes. We will post the updated notice with a new effective date. If a material change affects information previously collected from a child, we will provide direct notice and obtain new consent when required.
12. Contact
Questions or requests may be sent to info@adoralearn.com. Additional contact options are listed on our Contact page.
